BACKWARD FLAG BREWING CO.

DRINK SMALL. DRINK LOCAL.

Backward Flag Brewing Company

For the love of craft beer!
We looked at a new spot in Barnegat last week and we are feeling very good about it. Hopefully we will have some very big news about that soon. Although the search for a location has taken more time than we anticipated it would we choose to look at the positive side of our situation. It has given us more time to develop new recipes that we're really excited about...the downside is that it just builds the desire to get that beer into your hands! We also have been able to build new relationships and experiences. Recently we've become members of the Garden State Brewers Guild and the insight from that experience has been amazing. You should know that there is an organization out there that is working very hard for your rights to great craft beer. Standing in a room full of professionals who care so much about craft beer that they are willing to organize and fight for it is just one more reason for us to look forward to the day that the beer starts flowing through the taps at Backward Flag Brewing Co. We want to be able to support New Jersey craft beer as well as your rights to enjoy it. We have a feeling that day is coming soon... Cheers!
The search for a location continues...
We've been searching for the perfect spot to house our brewery but its a lot more difficult than you may think. Today we will be going out to look at a few spots in Waretown. Keep your fingers crossed that today we find 'the one'.
Introduction

Thank you for choosing to follow and support us!

I would like to introduce to you who we are so that we are no longer strangers, we should start this journey as friends right?

We are Torie and Charlie Fisher, the founders of Backward Flag Brewing Company. We have almost 10 years of brewing experience and it has all been shared. We learned together and we have grown together. We both have strengths and weaknesses. As much as I enjoy brewing a fresh batch of beer, the truth is that my husband is the real talent behind our operation. I have never seen someone with such a passion for the details. He has a patience for the process that I could never have. We collaborate on almost every recipe (I have a much better palette!) but most of the time I leave the fine details of the process to him. What I lack in patience I make up for in my desire to understand every other aspect of beer. History, serving, tasting and any other possible trivial thing that I can pick up. Our mission in all of this is to not only brew excellent beer but be able to share all of the things we have learned with others. Like why you should go to your cabinet right now and move those 'shaker pint' glasses to a box and donate them...but that is a discussion I'd like to have in our brewery one day. I believe that we can all brew the greatest beer on the planet but its purpose is lost if we don't know how to drink it.

We are a Veteran owned company, to us that means a lot. We both have served overseas and continue to serve full-time in the New Jersey Army National Guard. We believe that people put a certain faith and trust in Veteran owned companies and we will always strive to operate our business with the same vigor and values that we have always served with.
